Philosophy

ANDLAB-Edu has extensive experience in art and design education.

Our mission is to return the education of young people to the way it was. The current schools were developed to produce workers to meet the demands in various societal systems. Humanities educated young people before the factories, governments, and countries. Yes, the whole village educated a child. We believe this old model of education is still the best. While we are returning to the old method, we use the latest technology in online and distant learning tools where our mentors and the students work seamlessly.

ANDLAB-edu trusts that our youth can be raised holistically. The program is run by our mentors and educators who are not only in art and design but also in philosophy, psychology, sociology, literature, science, engineering, and history. Our mentors engage with children one on one in conversations that share their personal and professional lives, as both teacher and friend..

Our creative programs began in 2001 with ANDLAB Gallery in Los Angeles, California, by an artist mother and designer father.

Over the years, we grew into a collective of professional art and design peers, with ardor and experience to share with the next generation. We are proud to have hosted over 15 years of diverse and immersive classes, collaborative workshops, and personalized mentoring.

The students who have worked with us have gone on to enter distinguished colleges, and continue to innovate and succeed in widespread art and design industries.

College admissions portfolios are only a byproduct.

Our work cultivates each student’s potential to constantly developing skills to express their best selves.

Portfolios are then easy to assemble from the multitude of projects and sharpened individual pieces produced alongside a thoughtful, refreshing approach to education.

This process allows us to not only authentically curate student work, but also to develop, within our students, a wholesome mindset and attitude towards art that will guide them long beyond high school.

We build artists and designers, not art and design pieces.

Years of practice have taught us that good art and design is naturally created by good artists and designers. Our focus is on the people:

training the heart as well as the hands,

facilitating synergy in the face of challenges,

and nurturing a garden of everything it means to be creative in 21st century.
